Fall Break Fun!

It's almost time for FALL BREAK! If you're deciding to stay in the area for the long weekend, take a look at all the activities offered!

Bradt's Menagerie

Take a trip to Bradt's Menagerie, located three miles west of town. Oklahoma's largest petting zoo, Bradt's Menagerie offers activities like laser tag, a large hay maze, opportunities to feed farm animals, ride a camel, and play on a farm-themed playground!

Alva's Pumpkin Patches

Alva has TWO pumpkin patches to choose from! Jackson Pumpkin Acres is located two miles east and one mile north of town. The Alva Pumpkin Patch is located on Highway 281 by G&G Home Furnishings. Both patches offer a variety of activities and photo opportunities. Go snap some photos, pick a pumpkin or two, and make lasting memories during this fall season.

EAA Young Eagles

The Experimental Aircraft Association is coming to Alva Regional Airport with their amazing Young Eagles Program on Saturday.

Ages 8-17 are welcome to join in on the adventure. But act fast, as there are limited spots available! The FIRST 25-30 kids will have the incredible chance to take a ride in real planes. It's completely FREE, and a delicious FREE lunch will be provided! Feel free to reach out at (580) 327-2898 or send an email to alvaair@sbcglobal.net.

Downtown Alva

Take a walk downtown to do a little shopping, look at the variety of murals and stop in for a sweet treat at Holder Drug's soda fountain. The downtown area is beautifully decorated for fall, offering many photo opportunities!

Crystal Digging

Crystal digging season closes at sunset on Sunday, October 15. Get in one last trip for the season this weekend and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the salt flats. The Selenite Crystal Digging Area is located at 66003 Garvin Road, Cherokee, OK 73728. Once inside the gate, drive about a mile following the road and park in front of the orange “Dig Area” signs. Each person is allowed to collect up to 10 pounds and one large cluster for their personal use.

Have a safe and happy fall break!
