Thank you to all who participated in the painting and bidding on our Painted Ponies. It was fun and a great success!! If you have not picked up your Painted Pony after the final bidding, you will find it at La Dee Da's. If you have any questions please call the Alva Chamber at 580-327-1647. Music fans can attend the many vocal and band recitals given by the public schools and NWOSU throughout the year. Alva High School has an award winning showchoir, The Electric Gold. Theater buffs can enjoy several different types of performing arts. Plays and musicals are presented year-round by Alva schools and on the campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The Alva High School forensics team has great state-wide winning tradition and sends many competitors to national competition every year. Northwestern recently revived its debate team after 20 years and has done very well in competition.  Northwest Oklahoma Concert Series offers Alva and the surrounding communities an opportunity unique to rural areas. Each year, six different musical and theatrical productions visit Alva from October to April.

| | Nescatunga Arts Festival brings artists and craftspeople from a four-state region to the downtown square to display and sell their handiwork. There also is entertainment and specialty food stands. The Nescatunga Arts Festival is usually held during the first week of June. |
